Jurgens is the founder and owner of 1,2 Smile and has completed his dental degree in 1980 and postgraduate studies in 1987 and 1995 at the University of Pretoria. He has also completed the International course in Functional and Orthopedic Orthodontics.
Apart from years of experience in the private practice, he has been a Dental Manager for a big Health Group and served as the principal dentist (Director) of the Fourways practice at the Intercare group. He has given lectures at Dental Congresses and has mastered CAD CAM in CEREC 1, CEREC 2 CEREC 3 and 3D, Bluecam and Omnicam. He has also mastered Planscan/E4D CAD CAM. (One of a few worldwide to have trained and works with both systems).

SA Association for Aesthetic Dentistry (SAAAD)
He has also qualified for Digital Smile Design (DSD) course and for SmileTru – Invisible orthodontic aligners.
He keeps up with the latest trends in dentistry and has attended courses in Orthodontics, Implantology and Cosmetic and Aesthetic dentistry.
He has a passion for cosmetic dentistry and when he isn’t sculpting beautiful teeth, he likes to keep himself busy with ceramic sculptures and painting and does sport, including marathon running, athletics, squash, tennis, scuba, hiking and goes to gym. Other interests include playing drums, nature, nature conservation, 4×4 adventures and travelling.
He is married to Agneta and they have three daughters and one granddaughter.
